I was watching the Genius interview between Rob Markman and Tory Lanez the other day and stumbled upon a gem. Tory Lanez talks about his method of getting Radio DJ's to play his record. It's pretty interesting and I feel like more artists can take advantage of it.
To sum it up he basically created dubplates for every DJ he knew. A dubplate is when you replace words or names in your song with a DJ's name. This encourages DJ's to play your record at the club, radio or other events. Its a cool concept that isn't utilized enough on the independent scene.
Maybe you could build a relationship with a bubblin' DJ or two in your area and send him/her a dubplate version of your record.
